For those seeking more active pastimes many
participant sports are available in
the Lake District, from power boating to walking,
most
of which can be enjoyed by novices and experienced sports people
alike. Other activity centres are within easy reach of the hotel
offering a diversity of activities from archery to off-road karting
and paragliding. There are many recreational opportunities in the
surrounding countryside not least of which are the many walking
and mountain biking routes on deserted paths and bridleways leading
from the hotel.
Numerous golf courses are within 15 miles of the hotel as well
as driving ranges at Kendal and Penrith. Fishing in stocked local
tarns, water sports at Pooley Bridge and many other activities
for individuals and groups are within a short drive of the hotel.The
hotel's 33 acres of private grounds and the surrounding fells
are ideally suited for outdoor training courses or activities
which the hotel can arrange in conjunction with professional training
organisations.
For
more leisurely activities there are more than a dozen race courses
within two hours of the hotel, as well as other spectator sports.
The games room, on the lower ground floor, features a full sized
snooker table, table tennis and electronic games and the hotel has
a hard outdoor tennis court.
There are a number of entertainment centres such as the Kendal Brewery
Arts Centre offering theatre, art, and music. If you wish to hold
a dance or have a cabaret evening during your stay we can book a
